Privacy Policy

i18n is a non-profit project that maps localization hiring across the industry. We respect your privacy and collect only what is necessary to run the platform. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.

Information you provide

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password, or your Google profile information (name, email, avatar) if you sign in with Google. When you submit jobs, suggest companies, or send feedback, we store the content you provide along with your user ID so we can attribute submissions. When you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address. When you request an API key, we store your email and description of your intended use.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. Google Analytics collects pages you visit, time spent on pages, your approximate geographic location (derived from IP address), browser and device type, and referral sources.

Google Analytics only loads after you explicitly click "Accept" on the cookie consent banner. If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics tracking occurs. Your choice is stored for 180 days. You can also opt out using a browser extension like Google Analytics Opt-out.

We use cookies for three purposes: authentication (keeping you signed in), analytics (Google Analytics, only with your explicit consent), and storing your cookie consent preference.

How we use AI

Job descriptions are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for classification. This determines whether a role is localization-relevant and assigns categories like discipline, seniority, and location. Job submissions you provide may also be processed by AI during extraction. We do not use your personal information (email, name, account details) in AI processing. Only publicly available job posting content is sent to the AI.

Job and company data

We collect job posting data from publicly available sources: company career pages, public ATS APIs (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday, SuccessFactors, Personio, SmartRecruiters), and web search results. This is all publicly available information. We do not access private or authenticated career portals.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate i18n:

Supabase for database, authentication, and edge function hosting. Anthropic for AI classification of job postings. Google for OAuth sign-in and Google Analytics. Lovable for application hosting. Buy Me A Coffee for donation processing (external link, their own privacy policy applies).

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not display ads.

API rate limiting

For API rate limiting, we temporarily store IP addresses. These are not linked to your account and are cleared periodically.

Data retention

Account data is retained as long as your account exists. Job and company data is retained indefinitely as part of the public dataset. API rate limit data (IP addresses) is cleared periodically. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.

Children

i18n is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. Significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
